GPT-5 Now Available in Animo!

GPT-5 is now live in Animo.

The short version: it writes better Manim code, handles edits more gracefully, and actually understands what you’re asking for most of the time.

What’s different

Code generation

GPT-5 writes cleaner Manim code out of the box. Describe a spinning cube, a graph that animates, or a math equation that transforms, and the output tends to work on the first render. The older model would get close but miss details, like wrong axis labels or overlapping animations.

Scene editing

Want to change colors, fix timing, or rearrange elements? GPT-5 modifies the existing code instead of rewriting everything from scratch. That was a real frustration with the previous model.

Scene explanations

The model can walk through what’s happening in each frame. This is especially useful for teachers who need to annotate animations for their students, or anyone handing off work to a collaborator.

Editor support

GPT-5 runs inside the Animo extension. It works with VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and Kiro.
