What is Animo?
Animo is a desktop program that lets you create professional mathematical and educational animations using natural language. Built on the Manim engine (used by 3Blue1Brown), it works with AI coding tools like Claude Code, Codex.
What is Manim?
Manim (Mathematical Animation Engine) is an open-source Python library created by Grant Sanderson (3Blue1Brown) for creating mathematical animations. It's the engine behind many popular educational videos on YouTube. Animo uses Manim to generate professional-quality animations from your natural language descriptions.
How does Animo work?
Animo is a desktop program that works with AI coding tools like Claude Code, Codex. You describe the animation you want in plain English, the AI generates the Manim code, and Animo renders it into a professional animation, all from your desktop.
Do I need to know how to code?
No coding experience is required. The AI handles the code for you. If you're new to coding tools, we offer a free onboarding call where we'll help you install everything and create your first animation together.
What tools does Animo work with?
Animo works with Claude Code, Codex. You'll need at least one of these AI coding tools installed. If you don't have one yet, we'll help you set it up during a free onboarding call.
How much does Animo cost?
Animo is a one-time purchase of $49. No subscriptions, no recurring fees. You get the full application, unlimited animations, all future updates, and priority support.
What kind of animations can I create?
You can create mathematical visualizations, algorithm explanations, physics simulations, data visualizations, educational content, and much more. Animo is perfect for teachers, content creators, and developers.
Can I export my animations?
Yes, you can export animations in multiple formats including MP4, GIF, and PNG sequences. You can also choose different aspect ratios for YouTube (16:9), TikTok/Reels (9:16), or square (1:1) formats.
Is there a way to learn Animo with someone?
Yes! We run free live workshops on Google Meet where we walk you through Animo from scratch and build your first animation together. Check out our workshop page to sign up for the next session.
Is there a limit on videos?
No, there's no limit on videos. You can create as many animations as you want.
What's the price per video?
There's no price per video. Animo works with credits, which you use based on the complexity of each animation you generate.
Does Animo include voiceover capabilities?
Yes. Animo can narrate your videos through the built-in manim-voiceover plugin, timing each animation to its sentence. You can choose from several speech services, including free and offline options.
Does Animo include an interactive 3D view of elements?
Yes. Alongside the rendered video, Animo can save an interactive 3D version of your scene's final objects, so you can rotate and explore them.
